For years, when I tell people "don't sign here" because this cancels your loan, "sign here instead"...no matter what I say, folks always want to sign in the I WISH TO CANCEL box.
So, I began putting a big fluorescent colored post it in the box with an arrow to sign below.
Last night I'm with a borrower who lifts up the post-it and says "sign here too?" NOOOOOOOO!
Sign below, I say. We all laugh. Of course, he's having a beer, it's so hot, and I'm ready for one too, my last stop, saved by the post-it so I don't have to drag out another clean copy of the RTC for 911 emergencies.
It's so interesting that everyone, by default, wants to sign in the I WISH TO CANCEL box. Is it because of all the white space, and people instinctively want to sign there? It's very puzzling to me.
