As for getting questions answered, if an NSA walks out the first time the borrower has to call the lender to get something clarified, the NSA isn't likely to get any repeat business.

As for the process, it wouldn't be harder for the notary, it would be easier than passing the notary's computer back and forth. But it would be a lot harder for the signers. Probably, electronic notarization just shouldn't be used because hardly any signers are prepared to do their part in a safe process, and the cheap and easy compromises being used aren't safe.
