CA's acceptance of passports as ID -

Looks like the new wording of acceptable identification clears up the passport issue that has been discussed here. Many notaries accept any passport stamped by the US. However, the passport must contain the five elements that other identification requires. This is not new but is now more transparent. Clearly it cuts out the vast majority of passports we will ever see. In fact, I believe there are only 2-4 rarely seen passports that meet the criteria.

"- Reasonable reliance on the presentation of any one of the following, provided that the identification is either current or has been issued within five years, contains a photograph and description of the person named on it, is signed by the person, and has a serial or other identifying number:
* A passport issued by a foreign government stamped by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services of the Department of Homeland Security..."
