Need Help w/ Scanning in PDFs

I have Adobe Acrobat 7.

I am guilty of not knowing how to scan in PDFs so that they are not huge and cumbersome. I have to scan in rent rolls for inspections. If it is handy. I have an HP 3015. If it is a big problem to give me this info, I'll try (again) to figure this out for myself.
