a 1099 to me ....depending on the type of work I do for them. When they get really busy, they have me come in to the office for the day or several days a week. The title company does issue a 1099 to me for that type of work and they do report it to the IRS. I remember a couple of years ago, the IRS contacted them about a question regarding my 1099. It was nothing of importance. It was just a clerical question. Not a big deal.
If I do a single mobile closing for an escrow officer at the title company, that officer just sends me my check based on the closing statement. There is no 1099 issued for income related to that transaction. But I still report the income on my my taxes. |
