UNLESS you're a Hawaii notary. Follow your state's laws when it comes to using your seal! Many notaries find that challenge enuff, judging by some of the posts here. Any extra stamping and signing not directly associated with someone's signature is just not kosher. End of story. Frankly, I don't understand this obsession NSAs have with other states' notary laws/ county recording requirements/witnesses etc. Not our job. Unless I'm missing the boat. (No pun intended). And wouldn't that be nice, taking a boat to Hawaii … well, maybe not right now with the volcano and all …..
In any case, when signing and stamping, you are notarizing someone's signature ... and certainly not your own as certificate was described in OP. *And* as JanetK said, "only once" … unless they actually signed the DOT twice ….? Geez. (This is getting complicated.) |
