Did they tell/warn you in advance that they don't pay if loan doesn't close? Sometimes, a company's payment terms are listed on the confirmation.
I don't believe I've worked with this company in a long time (since they were located in Walnut Creek, CA; they're now down the street from me in Rocklin, CA). I frequently see on Indeed that they're hiring. Don't know if they have a high turnover or if they're growing. That last time I recall, I had to hound them for payment. 'nuff said! :-(
