"And many ARE the parents, making "play" money and staying busy, active, relevant"
That's definitely part of it. Those people don't necessarily have to earn 6 figures as a signing agent. They have income coming from other places to pay the bulk of the bills. They just want some extra income to be able to take a vacation, buy a new car or whatever. Staying busy, active and relevant is definitely part of it too. It's not like people thought of retirement 50 years ago, where you would just sit in your rocker and reminisce the days away and go visit your grandchildren once in a while. Retirees today who are healthy and "can" work, still want to keep active and relevant. That doesn't mean that they're happy with the fees being offered notaries, but it's not a matter of survival to them. Therefore, keeping busy and making "some" money is more of a priority than worrying about how it affects anyone else or what anyone else thinks of them. It's just the way it is in this business. |
