I know that there have been many books published in the past few years regarding letters from the Civil War, WWI and WWII and possibly other wars. Try National Public Radio station websites in your area, Public Television, Library of Congress in D. C. may also be able to help, they should have a website. Also, Tom Hanks very involved in WWII history and there maybe information you can link from doing a search in regards to the Memorial for WWII veterans in D. C. Sorry, right now I cannot think of other sources. Oh, Also, the military schools and universities in your area. Hope these leads help.

Good luck, I am researching an incident from WWI and its hard because it happened in another country and there isn't a lot here in the US that I have found yet.
