has issued a report entitled "Constitutional Grounds for Presidential Impeachment" which makes for an interesting read. Among other things, it briefly explains the history of the impeachment process, dating back to 14th Century England, and how the concept was borrowed and tweaked by the Founders as they were writing the Constitution. It also explains, in their own words, why they incorporated it in the Constitution and how they envisioned it working.
It does NOT lay out the case for impeachment of Trump but does address much of the misinformation currently being spread about the impeachment process itself, citing examples from the Johnson and Clinton impeachments, as well as the Nixon impeachment inquiry which resulted in articles of impeachment being drawn up by never filed because he resigned before that could happen. \
