I never claimed to be an expert in the medical field - that's your characterization.

Wrong. Here's the definition:
"Triage is the process of determining the priority of patients' treatments based on the severity of their condition. This rations patient treatment efficiently when resources are insufficient for all to be treated immediately; influencing the order and priority of emergency treatment, emergency transport, or transport destination for the patient."
Nothing in there about injuries - it talks about resources. Using your scenario of two people showing up at the same time with the same condition, with limited resources you have to make a decision about who to treat and who to let go.
Hospitals in Spain are already experiencing this - doctors are being forced to take elderly patients off respirators in order to use the respirators for younger patients who might have a better chance of survival. Hospitals in NYC are close to reaching this point if they can't get more respirators.
None of this has to do with socialized medicine - it has to do with the availability of resources. Even the best medical system in the world can be overwhelmed by a pandemic.
