Some 430,000 people traveled here from China after we first knew about the coronavirus. Before Trump acted, 50 other countries had already banned flights from China. Closing the border didn't work for them either. After Trump issued the ban, another 40,000 came in. There was no screening being done at the airports.
And why would stopping non-citizens from traveling from that area have any effect if the citizens coming back were traveling from the same area? Were non-citizens the only ones who might be carrying the virus? |
