He didn't "chuckle" when he said it, and he was asked a number of times if he was kidding. His response was that he doesn't kid. He was given the opportunity to clarify, and he stuck with his statement. How is that not getting his sense of humor?

This is why we can't believe anything he says - his story keeps changing. He denies saying things that have been recorded on video. You call it a sense of humor; I would call it lying.
