Well let's talk about the majority. I work for two school districts, we are sending out every possible survey question, will you send your students to school in the fall? Modified schedule? Would you prefer a virtual courses option? Do they ride the bus? Do you participate in ex-activities? Does your child eat at school? Can your child wear a mask all day? Can they social distance from their friends? 85% of parents do not feel it is safe to send their children back to school. I read yesterday (wish I'd taken note of the county) but I think it was somewhere in Florida over 400 children have tested positive. It may not be a huge number relative to the whole population. But it royally pisses me off that people are so belligerent that they can't be kind enough, christian enough to protect even one child... It comes down to two things reelection, and the illusion that you are opening up the economy. If parents are obligated to go back to work, they need schools to babysit. But if you ask me (and no one does)
If a child has to wear a mask for any amount of time...It's not safe. Period. Full stop. |
