Jordan's only purpose on that committee would be to create chaos, which he does on a regular basis.
It makes absolutely no sense to put people on a committee that is investigating something that they took part in. What kind of behavior would you expect from them? I'm only mildly surprised that McCarthy didn't nominate Gosar or Brooks...
Here's the reality - there was a bill proposed that would have created a truly bipartisan commission. Both sides would have the right to subpoena witnesses, neither side would have been able to drive the narrative.
McCarthy convinced MOST of his caucus to vote against it, even though it would have been a bipartisan commission. And now he's whining about how what the Dems are doing is partisan.
HE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY to make this investigation truly bipartisan, and he rejected it. So Pelosi appointed a Republican, Liz Cheney, to the new committee - because she understands politics better than that hack McCarthy ever will - and now she has a bipartisan committee.
McCarthy had the opportunity to fill five additional seats on the committee, and he flubbed that one as well by nominating Reps who supported the insurrection (after a visit to kiss the orange butt in Mar a Lago). Pelosi said we'll take three of them, but these two are a problem. McCarthy, being a moron, pulled ALL of his nominations,
But by Pelosi adding Cheney, the committee has a quorum that is bipartisan - they don't need those 5 Republican seats to do business. And if McCarthy doesn't get his head out of his butt, Pelosi may add Adam Kinslinger - another Republican - which leaves McCarthy with four seats to fill, and Pelosi still having veto power over those picks.
Bottom line - the GOP had an opportunity to investigate the insurrection on a truly bipartisan basis, and they stupidly rejected it. And now they're trying to convince you that it's all the fault of the Dems.
