| I would say D. Indifference. We have a populace that seems to be indifferent to the damage of the societal fabric that once bound this countriy together with honor and integrity. We have a society that idolizes sports figures, rock stars and entertainers to the point where they can virtually do no wrong. We have a country that for years has used its military might to support tyrants who have exploited their own people. We have lost a lot of the chutzpah that enabled this country to rise to the challenge of defeating the Axis powers in WWII. Yet we are indifferent to the problems that affect our own citizens; quality education, affordable health care, care for the aged and food for the needy. |
