Happy St. Patrick’s Day Weekend
Blarney Castle, near Cork, Ireland, is the remnants of a medieval past.

It is said that in 1314, Cormac McCarthy helped out Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, with soldiers, and received as a thank you, the Stone of Destiny, what we refer to, today, as the Blarney Stone. The stone, purportedly, imparts the gift of gab, the ability to express oneself eloquently. When the castle was expanded from being a keep to a castle, the stone was added to it.
In the past, you kissed the Blarney Stone upside down, with someone holding onto you, because that was the only way to reach it because of its placement beneath the battlements.
Today, there are rails that you hold on with while laying on your back, you go upside down and backwards while gazing some 90’ straight below to kiss the mythical stone. (It’s easier than it sounds).
