Certainly helped us teenagers in the late 60s become football junkies. Especially when he led the Oakland Raiders to win Superbowl II. Other stats of his early career listed below.

What I didn't know was that he played for Cal-Poly here in San Luis Obispo, CA, and coached at Hancock College in nearby Santa Maria, CA.

What I did know was that he met his wife at Harry's Nightclub and Beach Bar at our local Pismo Beach. I always wondered about that but it now makes perfect sense. Great coach and well-loved.
