This is definitely not kosher. Where are they located, phone number? I've never heard of them myself.
We as notaries need to keep a vigilant eye over who is actually hiring us, their credibility is key.
Believe it, there are people out there targeting notaries to perpetrate their scams. People who have been prosecuted and penalized for bad deeds and using notaries to carry out there bad deeds.
One case I heard about recently is some idiot down south who is using notaries to meet with borrowers to modify their loans for upfront fees. The notary then chases their fee, and the poor borrowers are out thousands of dollars. No recourse. This person is promoting his services across the country.
NOTARIES, do not accept modification signings except through the lender who originated the loan. These are fraudulent transactions. |
