I've always suspected it was something that simple rather than any real need for paper of a certain size. The only other possibilities I can think of are that they don't want the hassle of dealing with different size sheets of paper or they're assuming that the notary printing the docs doesn't have the right equipment to do the job properly - neither of which makes sense.
I had one on all legal this week, too. Fortunately, it was a pretty small package for a pretty healthy fee. Amazing how quickly that calmed my aggravation at having to print all on legal paper! BTW, it's occurred to me that some of the larger packages we're seeing these days could be attributed to lenders converting to all letter size documents. While I appreciate that and do take it into consideration, there's only so much allowance we can give them for that... |
