Well, in California, we're background checked by FBI and DOJ as a condition of obtaining our commission. Also, I always have the Fedex/UPS envelope address and ready to go so when done with signing and after reviewing docs, I just slip them in the manila envelope, then into the shipping envelope and seal it right in front of borrowers. This tends to reassure them I'm not holding on to their info for any nefarious reasons.

Insofar as "do I work for the title co or how did they find me in a different state." I let them know I'm an independent contractor and the rest is a matter of marketing.

Keep it simple but truthful.
