The public boards, chat areas, and questions that we see read like daily nationwide more novices are getting their "online certification" and entering this business without even checking their area for competition, preparing a business plan, and having 3-4 months of savings to tide them through in hopes of "regular" contracts and "steady" income.
Not a slam at those just entering this business. But it is hard work, alot of marketing, 24/7 time investment, and, if you aren't careful, a lot of up-front, out-of-pocket expenses for 31-90 days from each signing before receiving a check (interest free loan for the company) - or no payment if you didn't carefully vet the vendor prior to contracting with that company. Read the old posts; many closed their doors leaving hundreds of signing agents never to be paid. |
