As I was pulling into the bank parking lot, waiting for a car to maneuver out of the space they were backing out of so that I could park, when suddenly I hear, "get a move on, Grandma". I look behind me and two middle aged men, overweight, looked as though beer is their daily bread, and dressed very sloppily, revving their engine. The car they drove was filthy and had met with a lot of body damage. I park, grab the cookies and flowers I'm delivering to one of my best lo clients, and walk up to the ATM where this guy is withdrawing money, and I say:
"You really need to start being nicer to people, you had no call to yell at me as I was being courteous so someone who was trying to exit their space and leave the bank property. You're acting like a pig. What gives you the right to be so disrespectful to others?" Then he went on to tell me the IRS was on his ass and he is taking care of his elderly mother and can't find a job. Steam was coming out of my ears. I was madder than a hornet. He then tried to apologize, as I turned on my heals and proceeded into the bank.
"Still, you have no call to disrespect others, what goes around comes around." I turned to go into the bank to complete my mission and immediately felt redeemed. I just had to seize that moment, and this guy was twice my size, he could have decked me, but you know what, his tail curled up between his legs and I left him pretty much embarrassed because there were a lot of people around who heard our exchange.
I then went into the bank and suggested to the bank concierge that he immediately close this pig's bank account!! Tongue in cheek, of course.
Yeah, right. |
