I used that approach a few times in the past...title got very upset with me because they pay the SS on time. The SS hired me, take it up with them. Click. They do not want to be bothered with my issues, and have no obligation to me.
Then the SS may or may not get wind, and will get really upset you went over their head, and that doesn't mean you get paid sooner, if anything, they may delay or not pay all together because you made waves for them. At that point they will never use you again anyway. I found better just being polite and firm, and consistent, and not threaten...catch more flies with honey than vinegar.
