You can read their body language. No one quite motivated to move as fast as you want them too. Young, inexperienced staff. Don't quite have enough training. It certainly has changed at FEDEX. Wow, no longer the resource center it once was. Everything is very service oriented, but no one to render quality customer service. Once one of the most successful fortune 500 companies for many years, I'm sure they are shaking their heads in Tennessee as to how to make things "pencil" out. It's always headcount, when it gets right down to it.
Here's a biggie! Their facilities expense must be outrageous. They don't own their buildings, but rent them, usually triple net leases. Utilities to boot. Electricity? Wow, must be through the roof. Our main FEDEX is open 24/7.
