I did my taxes last Sunday using Turbotax Premier. Cost was $80.00. When I did taxes for H & R Block they had a similar software program for their agents. Took me about three hours to complete as all of last years information are already on my computer so all I had to do was edit, add a few, and delete a few items. I close out each months paperwork at the beginning of the next month and just had to add twelve sets of numbers to get totals. Preparing for the taxes, whether you go to an accountant or do it yourself is most of the work and most of the time. By the way, when I used to go to a CPA they used a software program similar to Turbotax and H & R Block.
I e-filed both Federal and State taxes and received acknowledgments from both within two hours that they were received.
