actually witness the signing, and to sign as a witness. Witnesses don’t need to know who the signed is; they don’t need to know what the document is. All they are doing is attesting to the fact that a signature was affixed in their presence. They don’t need to verify the sogner’s identity - that’s what the notary is for.
