Stupidity and being naive I guess. I don't get that either. He said she was convincing on the phone. He is only maybe in his early 60's college grad, smart guy from MI state alumni. Elderly and confussion doesn't even factor in for an excuse. Not sure how this happens either. In his case, because he found the website and he contacted them, he thought was legit.
