Yes, I realize this doesn't or may not directly affect notaries--it's geared more towards title and settlement companies and other members of ALTA. But the point I hope everyone takes away is that don't let your guard down. EVER. Keep your various means of protection against the baddies and nasties up-to-date and if something doesn't feel right or seem right, check it out. Report it to the appropriate sources. Even something that may seem as random as those email scams. Report them here. Make others aware so they know what to look out for.
