Happens over and over. People (including those who draft lender documents) think if you stamp a document it somehow makes something "official" or "legal". They don't understand what a notarization does. As notaries we are an "impartial official witness that verifies the identity of a signer...". We are not permitted to put our stamp on any document without the required notarial wording, nor can we notarize our own signature. |
