It's a fine line a signing service or other company has to walk in situations like this. I agree with the principle that this forum should be primarily for us, although I do miss some of the comments we saw years ago from one or two title/escrow folks who used to post on issues that impacted us all. I frequently found it useful to see a different perspective.
When a company believes they have been erroneously attacked here, I feel they have a right to try to set the record straight. Protecting one's reputation is critical in our business - or really any business these days. However, they need to do so with care because we've seen cases where snarky replies have done more harm than good. And I agree with the end of your post. They should avoid the personal and specific details to whatever extent possible.
Taking the high road is always the best way to defend oneself, because people will judge you more by what YOU say than what others say about you...
