I agree with Luckydog - it has nothing to do with her age, they just won't pay their contractors. I doubt they have any idea how old she is, nor do they care. Their business model seems to be to stiff the notaries who do the work for them, period, full stop.
Granted, it hurts more when you are doing this to supplement your retirement income, but I think to call it "elder abuse" is a bit much unless you can show that they specifically target people of a certain age. I'm sorry to hear she's getting stiffed, but that might have been avoided if she checked the forum and SC first before accepting the job. Perhaps you or others can give her strategies to collect the money that is owed to her.
Accusing the company of elder abuse without any evidence to back up the allegation is not helpful to her or anyone else in her situation, and opens you up to charges of libel. This is a public forum, and as you noted: "it will replicate and resound for years on Google searches". That could get very ugly for you very quickly. |
