It's not elder financial abuse, it's Contractor Fraud. She has a signed agreement to pay for work rendered in a timely manner, and this company doesn't pay any of their contractors...she's just in the back of the line with the 5 years worth of NSA's in front of her that never got paid. At sometime one of these NSA's need to take it to the state level and report them for fraud with the Dept of Labor or similar, and let the state investigate and get them their money back, fine them, and put them out of business. This is obviously intentional, but nobody takes it to that level and shrugs it off and cries later about it. If they cant first look them up in SC, how do we expect them to do that, right?
Sorry for her, but some times its hard to feel sorry for NSA's (of any age) who continue not to look before they book, especially with something as obvious as this company, who after 2013 was a 1 star company..if they could place a 0 star, would be more accurate. We all depend on each and every closing to live off of, feed our family, pay our bills...inexcusable. I hate to say it, but these kinds of naive NSA's keep these companies around, and this company is a predator feeding off them. Old, young, inexperienced...they pay their bills for them, keep their door open and pretty much feel untouchable.
Wishing her the best of luck, perhaps you can assist her in collecting for her.
