it comes to RM's, there's a local bank/LO that I've been dealing with from time to time. The difference is that they are salaried, while many of these cos. are commissioned sales agents. In my experience that makes a huge difference is how the whole RM process is handled. The local LO's visit with their clients & walk them through every step. If I was to refer anyone it would certainly be to deal at the local level.
