This happened to me a while back. Someone was using a stamp with my commission number on it and signing my name. Wasn't me and the printed name on the stamp has my name but an added "G" on it. I found out about it when a detective at LAPD called me to find out if it was me. He called me a week later and said another one was found. He sent me copies of docs he had and suggested that I go to my local police station and file a police report to protect me. Haven't heard anything since but it was obvious that I did not notarize those documents. This must happen a lot. If the police had not called me I would have no idea it was happening and I have no idea of how many times it has happened before or since.
