In my experience, Eric has always been a pretty straightforward, transparent and conscientious guy. Most of the time, I have no trouble reaching him - or least I can count on a call back - but lots of our communication is also via text. However, on any given day, any person can make a mistake or let something slip between the cracks, so I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
"They expected me to call the borrower all day."
That sounds like it would likely be coming from the LO, eager to get his/her deal closed. Staying on top of a signing situation goes with the territory, but I've always found Eric to be very supportive when it comes to dealing with pushy LOs.
I'm glad you got it worked out and I'd be very surprised if you didn't get your check promptly.
