I also tried Mono price a few months back but didn't have a good experience. One day I had a busy day lined up, so for some reason (good gut instinct?) I decided to print out a status page before I started printing packages. It showed a little over 50% capacity left, which should be about 3500-4,500 pages based on what I usually get from my printer. I printed about 3 full sets of docs that day which couldn't have been more than 1,000 pages worst case, but I ran out of toner before I finished. Also, usually when I'm running out, my printer starts giving me warnings (like it's been doing all day today... ), then finally stops printing when there isn't enough toner (after a few shakes). But with that cartridge, it kept going, even though the pages weren't printing clearly enough to read and I ended up wasting lots of paper.
The cartridge purchase price was much cheaper than the ones I got from LD Products, but not ANY cheaper once I calculated how much usage I got from it. So, I'm back with LD Products. To their credit, though, when I contacted Mono Price about the problem, they got right back to me and asked me if I'd be OK with a credit of a certain amount without having to worry about returning the cartridge (for which I got Staples rewards points for recycling...) Worked for me. Maybe it was just bad luck, but it was too much of a hassle for me to take another chance.
I've also noticed that LD products has been offering various e-mail promotions. I don't know if they're just stepping up their marketing or if they've been feeling the pinch. Sometimes they've offered discounts on a certain order amount, other times free shipping.
