I think the key word here is "renewal". I usually call them, because I have a date that I want the policy effective for, etc. They run E&O renewals consecutively. I was surprised to find out that if you drop E&O for instance, then you aren't covered for any claims that would show up for prior years. I don't like that feature at all.
Also, I don't like that we aren't made aware if someone files a claim against our E&O.
I'm scaling back big time, and will definitely consider if I'm going to renew next year or not.
I currently carry Signing Agent E&O and the general Notary E&O as well.
