Just for fun, you should try that "eventually" payment tactic with your light bill, your gas bill, your car note, your mtg company, etc. and see just how long anyone else in business thinks that is an acceptable method to pay for services rendered.
Be sure to let those of us who do not believe that a slow and/or an "eventually" payment method is, in any way, an acceptable way to run a professional business what sort of results you received from any of those companies in the "just for fun" list above.
Besides the $20 gift card you mentioned, when she "eventually" pays you, does she include payment for the time & expenses you are out while you are chasing down payment for services already rendered?
If a company, ANY company, is undercapitalized, before it attempts to insert itself as a newly created "middle man", (a mostly an unnecessary part of the industry today, imo), it should do everyone a favor and either 1) go to a bank and get more money or 2) just get out of the business of actively digging into the pockets of the people who are doing the actual face-to-face, kneecap to kneecap, signing work, just because your new company intercepted a phone call from the lender/TC and the NSA. |
