Calnotary: Would you please clarify what you mean by "I wish we could do the same...". The same what? Collect $X,XXX for work worth $XXX ? I am unclear on what you mean.

I read the article and I got the impression that the guy, Facundo Perez, is a scam artist who did substandard work on purpose and waited a time period to contact the Labor Board because he knew he could *work the system* and cash in, i.e. <<This is the second time in three years Perez filed and won a wage complaint, the commissioner confirmed.>>

The guy who hired him thought he was getting off cheap but in ended up costing him in the end. No one should EVER hire day laborers. If they get hurt on your property (and they will, count on it), YOU, the property owner are considered their employer and YOU are liable.
