I use two pieces of cardstock paper scored with folds that match my journal entries. I just fold them over the page and secure with jumbo paper clips. Easy, cheap and not bulky or heavy - easily replaced but I only have to replace them about once a year when they start looking ratty.

You can also do something similar with giant post-it sheets... but they are thinner and wear out more easily. I've tried it with these, but wasn't happy with it and went back to the cardstock.
