I went through the certification process for Amtrust/Gemstone/(another company I don't remember). There was no charge for these certifications. Already had a laptop. However, I rushed out to get an aircard -- this was before tethering or hotspots. May have been around 2006-2007. Well ... got rid of the aircard after the first year's subscription. I have accommodated several e-signings. But, it hasn't been the proliferation as initially marketed.
I did not attend the Equity webinar. Are they saying they are only using the Pavaso platform? There are other platforms out there that are A LOT more reasonable. With a quick search, I found DocVerify offering the same, if not more, services for (at the most) $35 per year. http://www.docverify.com/Products/Pricing There are probably others. Still, as others have stated, I don't believe the NSA should be shouldering yet another "cost of doing business."
