As responsible & accountable professional business owners
Posted by  Christine/OK of OK on 4/30/17 5:11am Msg #574465
the onus is upon each and every one of us individually to cite sources for verification and fact-checking when we post to this (or any) public forum. We're all cognizant that this data is held in perpetuity on the www & some readers (as we have all seen) take things found on the web as 'truth' without delving into & researching its validity.

Being respectful of the resources (time & energy) of our fellow business owners by citing sources, submitting posts that are excerpts utilizing quotation marks with sources cited, providing information to enable validation of public statements, etc. is the responsible and courteous method.

It serves no valid purpose to post fluff/fake news, unsubstantiated claims, unverifiable accounts, etc.

Tangentially, when some choose to post about elaborate signing events wherein they're lavished with riches and gifts while sharing each and every iota in elaborate detail of the personal belongings inside the BOs home and the social courtesies extended, it stands in stark contrast as a violation of the very core & essence of our responsibilities to hold their information private (implicit). Most BOs would be horrified to discover the detail to which their personal valuables & kindness had been placed on public display for general consumption . . . quite unseemly.

We all know that those types of accounts are best not posted at all publicly or posted only on Personal Blogs with prior written permission, not public forums. Certainly, no one is saying that one cannot occasionally share that they enjoyed a stress-free, positive signing engagement (in a sentence or two about the event) while simultaneously being respectful of the BOs privacy.

Again, in this instance, no one was requesting a reveal of the unnamed lender, only to hold accountable the non-paying SS & owner.
