I started off with the Brother MFC-L2700DW when I first began my notary business. I wasn't sure if I would like being a mobile notary and didn't want to spend a lot of money. This printer was so slow and it was frustrating especially when I would receive docs at the last minute. It would take 30 minutes to print 2 copies of documents. There was no option to add trays for dual printing. I would have to use the page sorter on notary rotary to print separately letter size and legal size documents and them put them in the package order. This took so much time.
January this year I bought the Brother MFC-L5900DW, which is my favorite. I absolutely love this printer. It's an all in 1. Print, copy, scan, and wireless. The printer comes with only one tray that holds 300 sheets of paper. It can be a multi tray printer when you purchase the additional trays. I use mine as a dual tray printer. The additional tray holds 500 sheets of paper. Printing packages with both letter and legal size paper is a breeze and I don't have to worry about running out of paper during printing. The printer cartridge can print about 8,000 sheets before it needs to be replaced. Of course, you have to replace the drum from time to time. I've had the printer for 6 months and I've only had one replacement of the drum. This was the drum that came with the printer. This MFC-L5900DW does cost a bit more but it's worth the price and I think you have customer service support for the life of the printer. |
