After all the scrubbing borrowers go through to obtain loans, I very rarely have any concerns about going to the homes of men, where I will meet them face to face, alone in their domicile.
I go where I am asked to go, but sometimes I will ask, "is 10am still the best time to meet at your home/office?" Some times they will offer to meet me somewhere else, and/or at another time.
On Friday, I had an 8:45am signing at a Dr.'s office, and I called 15 minutes before to tell her I was on my way. Hubby answered her cell and said "she's breastfeeding now and running a little late, can you make it 9am?" and I'm happy to oblige. It's a crazy busy world, I think most people are engaged in work, personal life, children, etc. to be thinking about harming the notary public who is coming to sign those long awaited loan documents.
This industry is made up of more females than males. How many of us have taken martial arts or even carry mace? I'm pretty secure about my environs and actually visiting homes and offices of my clients. It's the most interesting part of my job to see how other people live and what they are doing.
I'm more concerned about getting where I need to go in weather, fire storms, floods and mudslides. It's not the people I'm meeting at all. Plus, I always google where I'm going and the people I'm meeting with to be more familiar with my destination and those involved.
