The signing described by NVLSlady/VA seems legal. It's not our job to figure out if a witness has a disqualifying interest or not.

But many of us might not want to get involved in a situation that seems headed for trouble. If we get named in a lawsuit, that's a big mess, even if we did nothing wrong. And the problem with wills is that once you discover there is a problem, it's probably too late to fix it.
