The amount of student loans take a big chunk of the income of the demographic that should be in the housing market. And/or, that demographic is in default and will probably never qualify for a loan.
OK, two things: Rates are STILL at historical lows. Ol' retired r.e. broker here never saw conventional mortgage rates lower than 8%. Our first home's VA rate was 7.5%. We've been spoiled by 2 decades of amazingly low rates. |
