I think FL has more stringent requirements than most states about signers understanding documents. Here in CA, for whatever it's worth, the language of the documents isn't addressed under notary law. We're advised, though, that the notary should be able to communicate directly with the signer, without the use of an interpreter. I've signed many a loan package written in English with a signer who only spoke Spanish. I can only think of one company that ever provided docs in Spanish - and they went out of the loan business long ago. |
