There were A LOT of state "fee" increases as rats on a very large bill. CT has a big deficit to cover and increasing every fee "doesn't raise taxes." Sadly LOL increasing every fee by $5-$10-$20 does cost CT residents more ... and send more fleeing to other states after graduating college or to FL and other states after retiring.
I don't like it, but no big lobbying group cares - particularly if raising the Notary Public fee means one of the fees they pay isn't raised by more. |
