The forms at Vermont's DMV web site indicate a mailing address and a physical address may be entered on the form to obtain or update a DL, and that the physical address will be printed on the license.
However, there is another government program that isn't mentioned at the DMV website: the Secretary of State runs a Safe at Home program for victims of domestic abuse or similar situations. They get a PO Box in the state capital; mail received at the PO box is forwarded to the program participant. The web page for the program says this PO address may be used to apply for a DL.
It's possible there are other such exemptions buried at various places in the law, which might allow people such as police officers, judges, dept. of children and families caseworkers, and the like to use a PO box or a work address on their licenses. |
